Réseau des musées de l'Europe

Set up on April 18, 200O in Torino, this network is under the coordination of the European Council of history museums thus aiming at federating the initiatives relative to the museums dealing with the various aspects of the European civilization. The objective is both to open this network to all museums dealing with Europe and to formalize the exchanges with those institutions. Michel Colardelle, a member of this network, who is also the director of the Musée des Arts et Traditions populaires is working on a document called "Avant-projet de charte européenne sur les collections des musées. Pour une politique européenne du Patrimoine", which aims at creating an international collaboration between museums through exchanges and loans of objects, even beyond the network.
